Got 90? These Nonagenarians do and have more too.

Updated: Feb 22, 2022

On November 15, 2021, The Rouse Foundation in conjunction with West Georgia Cardiology were proud to visit with 27 seniors 90 years and older to appreciate them for their longevity, wisdom and contributions to our community. Staff from West Ga Cardiology and The Rouse Foundation delivered a holiday meal, a 90 Plus Club appreciation certificate and a 2021 90 Plus Club commemorative medal to each member of the 90 Plus Club.

Each year, Dr. Charlie Rouse ensures that his practice and foundation celebrate and acknowledge those precious seniors with a luncheon celebration but Covid has prevented us from getting together publicly. So this year, because of the availability of the COVID-19 vaccines we were able to go to their homes to celebrate with them individually. Our oldest club member, Mrs. Learlean McKey who is 100 years young, was happy to share that she was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and she was excited to witness the 1995 World Series Championship and their 2021 World Series win. She has been recognized by the Atlanta Braves and was still excited to talk about players like Dale Murphy and David Justice and now getting to see a new generation of players win after a long drought.

The meals were prepared by Simply Catering of Carrollton, Ga. To learn more about The Rouse Foundation programs, visit www.rousefoundation.org and West Georgia Cardiology at www.westgacardiology.com
